BANGKOK COUNTDOWN

Bid adieu to the old and usher in the New Year in true Ratchaprasong fashion.  First held in 2003, the countdown at Ratchaprasong and its many glorious New Year’s Eve festivities has inspired the entire city and has been dubbed as the “New York Times Square of Bangkok”.  Find yourself walking amongst a sea beautifully decorated streets, buildings, and skylines adorned in festive lights.  The nostalgic holiday ambience will certainly bring you back to your childhood and amaze even the grinchiest of souls. 

Countdown 2007

The 2007 Countdown colorful lighting decoration theme of Happiness@Ratchaprasong was the symbolic theme to present all happiness and joy to all those who visit the Kingdom of Thailand in New Year Festival. BTS bridge, sky walk, photo landmark, overpasses and trees are decorated with thousands of lights in colors. Special music fills the air and people’s spirits are buoyed up by the festive atmosphere. The Shopping Street Festival is a cooperative effort between the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and the private sector in the Ratchaprasong area.
